Today I Put On My Big Girl Panties.....

Ok, so I have been working at my company for 2 years now, traveling the country. You would think that I have seen some amazing sights. The truth is, I am chicken!! I do not like to do sight seeing, touristy stuff by myself. So, needless to say I am usually a homebody (or hotelbody!) when I am away. Don't get me wrong, when I happen to be in the same location as a coworker or two, we take full advantage of the company and "venture out on the towns", so I have seen some eccentric parts of the country. When I am by myself, though, I am not so adventuresome. TODAY, however, I put on my big girl panties and went sight seeing in Seattle, WA! This, my friends, is a great city! It is beautiful and seemed "user friendly", easy to navigate and lots of things to do and see. I went to the Space Needle, of course. Check out my photos below of my "big girl" trip!

Upgrade-Sweet, Long Walk-Not so much!

Ok, so I haven't posted in a while because, well, I got nothing! My friend JoAnne, who is now avid blogger number one, said she hates it when people don't update their blogs regularly, so here's all I have. I was "upgraded" at the hotel last week. This a nice perk of being a Diamond Member for Hilton. (Although a real diamond would be nicer....). I got upgraded to a suite in a Hampton Inn, which I didn't even think they had suites, but I digress. The space was nice and large, as you can see below......

The long walk down the "REDRUM" hallway, not so fun!!

Hope you all have been enjoying your holiday weekend! Next week I am off to Washington state. Might get in a little sight seeing on Tuesday if I have time. Stay tuned for those adventures and I am sure that I will have travel adventures!

Happy Birthday Sean Andrew!

Today my nephew, Sean, turns eight!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Love you!

How To Eat Cake Like A Three Year Old!

1. Pick around the cake part.

2. Get as much icing in your mouth as possible.

3. Lick the spoon clean!

On Saturday, I was at my Godson Luke's first birthday party. His mom and I have been friends for 26+ years!! Her three year old, Carlee, had a blast at "Wuke's" birthday. Her mom says she loves cake. Actually, mom says that she really loves the icing and tolerates the cake part!! That is a girl after Aunt Tracey's heart!!

Is It Karma??

Ok, so if you go to one ice cream place and it is closed, what would you do? So if you made it to the second one (does that tell you what I did?:)) and IT TOO is closed, what would you do? You know what they say about "third time's the charm!" Most people would have taken the first closed place as a sign that ice cream was not meant to be.... at least the second one closed would have been a major clue. Not to this girl! I did, however, end up with fat free frozen yogurt, much better then the first two places choices!! How's that for Karma?

You Know You Are In North Jersey When.....

1. Drivers are maniacs!
2. You cant turn left to save your life.
3. It takes you an extra five miles to get to your destination because of #2 above.
4. An elderly lady in Panera insists the cashier "just get me a muffin, it will only take a minute" as you are clearly placing your own order.

Love to my Jersey Girls~~~ Donna, Katie & Lynn

I Think I Can, I Think I Can....

Ok, with a little help from my fabulous bike,

and a LOT of help and motivation from my friend Pat,

(OK, I confess, TOO MUCH HELP from the scale at my friend's house yesterday) we rode 18 miles today. The "front nine" were hard, but dry. As we rejuvenated at a coffee shop (sugar and caffeine, a riders best friend-well, at least this rider), Pat informed me that it had started to rain. This made the "back nine" wet and significantly cooler. The weather did help our speed, however! We clocked, at one point, 19 miles an hour! Average 12.8..... I need to work on keeping up the 19mph pace~The Tour De Cure is only 4 weeks away from yesterday! Next week we have planned a "hilly" 18 miles!! Wish us (OK, ME) luck! Click on the link to the right if you want to support me in the Diabetes Foundation "Tour De Cure".

"Folks we have good news and bad news........"

Ok, so those words are not the words you want to hear from the Captian after you have landed! What can be bad... we landed in Philly 10 minutes early! Ok, so it turns out that that is the bad part! After 2 years of flying, I should have known that it is not the will of the Gods of Philly International Airport that any plane be early! We had to wait 20 minutes on the tarmac for our gate to clear. So, after landing 10 minutes early, we actually ended up 10 minutes late to the gate. I should consider that early..... this is typical for the City of Brotherly Love!!

A Little Friend

On a rare night at home I happened to step outside since it was a nice night. I was greeted with a friend in my bushes! Actually, I am usually greeted by a gartner snake in this bush, but tonight I had a rare treat! A praying mantis. Great photo, huh? Thinking it is time to switch careers....... Maybe later.

How Many Times Can I Say "Interesting?"

Ok, so after reading my previous post, I realized I used the word interesting too many times! Like I said, this is a work in progress!

Another Blog Convert!

So my friend Jo Anne, who said she would never be a blogger, has now inspired another member of the blogging family! Her blog was so cute and interesting, that I had to try it myself. Since I don't have children in my house, I needed something interesting to blog about. I decided that since I travel a lot for work, that might make for a good starting topic and then see where it goes! Since I spend a lot of time in a hotel room, I have lots of time to blog, but not always a lot of interesting things to blog about. Should be interesting! Maybe I can post for Jo Anne, who has 5 children, a big puppy and a full time job! :) Stay tuned, this site is still under construction.
